PPT Sales presentation 18’000 Euro

Money destruction amount of 18,000 Euro!

Our boss had prepared a PowerPoint presentation that had to be used by all sales staff when visiting the client. Apart from all the other sins,  there was still a special slide: That one was followed by several slides where a number of scientific diagrams explained that tap water contains harmful substances. Then there was the ultimate slide, stating:  “We have seen that tap water contains substances which are harmful to the body". After an empty line there was suddenly the question: "Is that your opinion, too? Did you see that, Mr Poehm???” It really said: "Is that your view, too?". THE ultimate question which, read from the slides, should get every listener to jump up, lead to standing ovations and subsequent hugging of a salesperson.

That is a bit like I go to a first date with a PowerPoint presentation because I do not dare to talk freely. Check yourself what kind of romantic feelings will be set off, if the woman you are into reads while hearing at the same time questions like:  "What do you do professionally?" - "Do you come here often?" and then finally: "Do you want to kiss me?".

These are slides, which prevent sales rather than promote them. I estimate that the compulsory use of PowerPoint* during sales presentations leads to a loss of turnover of 20 percent. Everyone would automatically sell more without being obliged to use that dead material which hinders a vivid presentation. On a scale of the company that amounts to a monthly sum of 18 000 Euro.
