13 PowerPoint competitors left behind

We are a big Swiss cryptographic company. We applied for a big order with an  Austrian company. In case of an order, our turnover would have increased by 20%.  The day came when all the competitors had to present their solutions in front of the clients. There were 13 (!) other competitors besides us. Among them were the best on the market. My company was a David among Goliaths.

It was a long day. One after another presented. PowerPoint*, PowerPoint*, PowerPoint* ... I was the last one. I listened attentively. I was in doubt after 10th PowerPoint presentation. I also had prepared PowerPoint. Compared to the others, our approach did not differ much either. I thought to myself: “You have no chance when you show the same once more! You have to be different!”

When my turn came, I left PowerPoint in my suitcase and placed myself in front of the board. I simply spoke about myself as a person. I said: “You don’t assign this job to a company. You assign the job to me. To me, personally! And I take responsibility for it. You have my word on this..."

The following day came a call from the company. We have left all 13 PowerPoint presentations behind us. We got the order!
